06  Prepare for Back To School

What’s on top of the school supply list this year? It is
not a lunchbox or a backpack but rather a smartphone, a
tablet or a cool fun educational app that runs on both. Kids
as young as elementary age are looking for smartphone
upgrades, while the college students are living the advent
of tablets into their classrooms. Developed universally for
the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, NxtApp 4 Kids is the
perfect back-to-school math app with which kids learn number
sequencing, thinking they are playing a game.

MAUS Meeting: September 21

Wednesday, September 21, 2011, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
At Maui College (Laulima Rm. 211)

Topic: Banking on your Mac: Join us this month as MAUS member Dave Schlicher reviews personal banking software for your Mac. In the past Quicken was the standard. But times have changed and there are new challengers out there such as iBank and Moneywell. As always bring your Mac, iPad, iPhone and iPod questions with you.

Meeting Summary : August

A good meeting – where we primarily went through and discussed the Lion set up process. As promised – the site you need to check your software compatibility for the Mac is :

Roaring Apps

Useful Links that came up in the meeting re streaming over the air …

Soundflower : For Lion : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2586101?start=15&tstart=0

Airfoll : http://rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/mac

As always – don’t hesitate to connect with me if I missed something that you wanted to remember from the meeting – or forgot to ask.

Meeting Summary : July

Note to self – get better writing meeting summary posts.

Apologies, sitting quietly this morning and realized that I hadn’t actually posted anything about the last meeting. This is it. It will be brief.

The meeting centered around Lion – which if memory serves – had been released that day !

The most important take away – PowerPC Apps will no longer work under Lion – so careful. Want to know the status of all the other apps you use under Lion – check out this link.

Look forward to seeing you all at tonights meeting – and will try harder to get a more timely summary posted to the blog!
